What is the difference in room categories?
We offer one attractive room type, all featuring the same standard amenities such as wooden floors, 32” LCD TV, mini refrigerator, tea/coffee set, safety box, telephone and bathroom with hot water shower and steam Bath. The difference with each room category is the size, the views and some include additional amenities for extra comfort.
Which rooms offer the best views?
The Dhauladhar Suit room on the upper floors offer fantastic views of the pine forest and mountains.

What is the policy for Early Check in & Late Check out / My Bus Reaches early / My bus is late in the evening :
Our Check in time is 12 Noon while Check out time is 12.00 Noon. Early Check in / late Check out is as per availabilities. If your room is not available we can give you some other room (subject to availabilities only) till 12 noon at nominal costs or you may wait in lobby / have a cup of tea in our beautiful terraces. We always try our best to give rooms to our esteemed clients as early as possible before the committed time of 12 Noon. For guaranteed early check-in, reservation needs to be made starting from the previous night.
At the time of check out you can leave your luggage with us at 12.00 Noon and go for sightseeing. Only Do this that sit.
What are the Cancellation / Amendment Charges ?
Cancellation / Amendments Charges For High Season:
For Intimations received more than 10 days of Check In : 20 % of Package Amount
For Intimations received between 06 - 10 days of Check In: 50 % of Package Amount
For Intimations received between 03 - 06 days of Check In: 70 % of Package Amount
For Intimations received less than 03 days of Check In: 90 % of Package Amount

For Intimations received between 05 - 10 days of Check In: 20 % of Package Amount

How do I book ?
There are Two ways to book :-
A:- Online Booking by Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking A/c’s : You can book online through secured payment gateway from our website. There are links / banners displaying "Click here for instant online bookings " on various pages. Software will show instant availabilities and best possible online rates. Once you are through the process you will get confirmations on the screen as well as your email within seconds . Only Hotel Packages can be booked online and if you require you can book Transport Package of Volvo or Car etc as per details mentioned later in this page by sending us an e-mail and payments can be made in Cash once you reach at the hotel.
B:- You can fill the reservation form / check the availabilities from +91-9625234009, +91-7831011111 and send us a mail at firstname.lastname@example.org with your Name , Contact Details , Check in date , Checkout date and Type of Package required . We will block the room for you and as specified in our mail you have to deposit advance amount in our ICICI A/c and than intimate us the same with payment mode. We will verify with bank and within 24 hours confirmation mail will be send to you.
What is Safety of Credit Card Data ?
The information requested during registration is necessary for the hotel and reservation to manage the booking request. All information is strictly confidential and shall be transmitted via an encrypted channel that ensures privacy. Your credit / debit card data, necessary to guarantee booking, is also transmitted through safe, on the protected bank server (SSL Secure Server). Highest level of protection is ensured for your credit card details.
What will the costs if I want to stay for more than 4 Nights ?
Packages are extendable on Pro Rata basis. You can divide the Four Nights Package by 4 and multiply by number of nights you want to stay .
What is your policy for early check-in or late check-out?
Our check-in time is 12.00 hrs and check out is 11.00 hrs however we understand that travel arrangements may cause you to arrive early or depart late in the evening. If arriving early we will do our upmost to accommodate you in another room (subject to availability) until yours is available, alternatively we have a lounge area in the lobby and a pleasant terrace to enjoy a cup of tea and wonderful views. To guarantee a room earlier than 12.00 hrs, reservations are required for the previous evening. For late check-out, we can store luggage while you go sightseeing and will try and give you a room to freshen up before departing on your journey.
What are the cancellation / amendment fees?
In the event that a booking is cancelled or amended, the following charges will be incurred:
More than 10 days notice before check-in: 20% of package amount
6-10 days notice before check-in: 50% of package amount
3-6 days notice before check-in: 70% of package amount
Less than 3 days notice before check-in: 90% of package amount

How do I book?
We offer two ways to book direct with our hotel:

Credit card, debit card and net banking account payments are accepted and instant booking confirmation will be sent via email. To book add-ons such as transport services, please email us directly to arrange and pay cash upon arrival at the hotel.

Please advise your name, contact details, check-in and check-out dates and package required. To book the room we require a deposit payment in advance to our ICICI bank account. Once verified with the bank we will send a confirmation email within 24 hours.

What does it cost to stay more than four nights with a special package?
The packages are displayed for three and four nights, but they can be extended on a pro rata basis. Divide the four night package by four and multiply by the number of nights you want to stay.
TOURS AND TRANSPORT
Can you help arrange a sightseeing trip such as river rafting?
We can advise on the best attractions in the area and have sightseeing brochures to help you choose a suitable tour. To get around we can arrange for a friendly taxi driver to escort you at reasonable rates.
What are the most popular attractions and how far are they from the hotel?

Do you arrange transfers from Airport / Train / Dharamshala Bus Stand ?
It is very easy to find a taxi / auto from the bus stand. Drivers will know Varada Home Stay and the cost is approximately Rs 150.
From Airport only option is by pre paid taxi . Same is easily available from taxi union at airport.

What type of clothing should I bring?
There are two distinct seasons here in Dharamshala. The summer is from April to September and brings temperatures ranging from 5 to 20°C. October to March is the winter season with temperatures from 0 to 15°C. We recommend light woollen clothing in summer and heavy woollen clothes in winter.
Can you book a hotel at Dharamshala for us?
If you are travelling on to Dharamshala we can arrange a hotel booking for you. We have a special arrangement with leading hotels in Dharamshala and can send you a quote and confirm your booking by email.
Does Varada Home Stay have hotels in other locations?
In November 2014 our hotel at Dharamshala will be opening.
Is 32 " LCD TV , Mini Fridge etc there in All rooms ?
Yes amenities like 32" LCD TV, Digital Safe deposit locker , Mini Fridge, Tea / Coffee Kettle , Wooden Flooring etc is there in room.
